A Break in the Clouds

The thing's red ray swept over Peryas, leaving a bit of heat behind, but no obvious damage. It seemed similar to a rather bright ray of sunlight, and as it passed over her form, there was a peculiar set of whistles and clicks that happened within it and then at the next bark of a wolf, suddenly, it stopped focusing on Peryas and moved to Singed as well. A whistle came from it and it then whirled around, it's red orb focusing on Riddle as the howl filled the air. It seemed to click a bit alarmingly at the howl and the red light shot from it again, beaming down on Riddle for a moment before dissipating again with another click.

Suddenly, it whirled around the entire group of wolves and zoomed upwards towards the large triangular shape in the sky. The shape was still moving steadily northward, angling itself towards the ruined city. To those that might have sensitive hearing, there was a very faint <i>BOOM</i> from the north as well, even as the silver shape moved ever on. The small orb shot upwards to the silver triangle and a hole opened up in the bottom of the triangle again and it was swallowed up. As the shape continued on, the smell seemed to dissipate a bit, and the air cleared.

Peryas held her breath as when the orb's red glow went all along her body. She felt a bit warmer, as if having walked away from the contained practice bonfire of a fire-user. It was only after it whirled around that she dared to think about the other wolves that had come along, perhaps to escape the overwhelming smell. There was the one the red was facing, the one that had just asked about the strange happenings, had just arrived. She honestly had no answer for him, but she felt it would be a good idea to respond anyway.

Unfortunately, she didn't trust herself not to vomit if she began to move her mouth. She tried to focus on the other wolf, who called the orb "Shiny" and didn't see to acknowledge the other wolves. The orb brought down its red light onto him as well, clicking and making its strange noises. It became harder and harder to focus as the eye-watering stench churned her stomach unpleasantly, overwhelming her senses. Her entire reality suddenly whirled around the smell, turning everything else into muffled blurs. After the extended exposure to her sensitive nose, the inevitable happened. She took a step back as small, mostly digested bits of rabbit found their way into the world from out of her maw.

When the unfortunate di'shei raised her head, she licked her unpleasant tasting teeth from the remains so she didn't look utterly disgusting. She shook her head and looked up to see the thing going back up into the sky shape, her ears picking up a faint sound off in the distance, where the shape was going. She blinked away the water in her eyes and reached out to the earth in front of her to take her vomit deep underground. The thing in the sky began to move along and, to her great relief, took its stench with it.

Singed's eyes locked on the red part of the orb as it turned to him and whistled. This unusual sound caused Singed to tilt his head slightly. He glanced between the object and the brightly colored young wolf it turned to next, making note of the noises that the odd metal thing made and filing away the information in his mind for later as he followed the quick little... whatever it was with his eyes. As it ascended, he sat down so as not to strain his neck looking up. Dimly he noticed that the stench was beginning to subside.

"Well then. I hope whatever it is doesn't cause such a stench in the ruin. Else I pity those within..." Singed quietly whined, simultaneously annoyed by his inquiry being unanswered and relieved that the smell had at least weakened. He glanced at the antlered wolf whom he had first seen the unidentified object by, and barked more audibly with a slight tone of concern, "Are you ill, miss?" slowly getting up.

The strange shape in the sky, still glinting silver, had moved from this area now and after a few moments, the stench faded as well. It did seem to be now, making even faster progress towards the stone ruins, passing quickly over the Dark Woods without even ceasing, and continuing on north. The silver orb thing with the red eye did not make another appearance.

Peryas gratefully inhaled the clearer air. Her unsettled stomach seemed much happier, and there didn't seem to be a chance of it happening again, since the scent was fading away with the sky triangle. She turned to the thin wolf that just talked to her, asking her if she was ill. She shook her head as if to clear from it all memory of what she'd accidentally done. That was embarrassing. She'd just have to bury that moment. She couldn't control it and it had already happened. There was no reason to whimper over it.

"Oh, no, I don't think so. It was just the scent."

She glanced at the form, going past the woods to the north. Now that it had passed over them, taking its foul scent and strange guano/sphere/eye, the ominous feeling seemed to dissipate as well. She still felt nervous about it, as anything carrying around such horridness couldn't be good. Yet now that her mind and the air was clear, she felt some faint curiosity about what it was as well. What was it? Where did it come from? Where was it going? What was it doing?

Riddle was delighted as the shiny not rock flashed a light over him, but then it was speeding away! Eyes wide he looked at it but then he shot forward in chase. He didn’t know where it was going but he wanted the thing and he was going to get it! It moved and didn’t need his magic; it made noises and a shiny red light. It might smell funny but he could dunk it in water, maybe then it would be clean! He heard the two wolves talk of the smell as he ran past them, but really he didn’t care. A good dunk and clean, it wasn’t so bad. Dead rotting fishes smelled horrid but they still tasted nice after being in the sun.

That shiny not rock would be nice to, he knew it. Running full tilt he used his magic to try and soften the earth under his feet. He didn’t know how long he would have to run to keep following it, but he wasn’t about to let the chance escape him because his paws hurt! He didn’t bother to say good bye to the wolves has he had not greeted them on seeing them. He had met many now; he would meet again if he found them and say words then. Tongue lolling he ran out of the Shining woods.

[Calico] Overly complicated exp thing..

I finished the thread, I dunno if that means anything with only three posts.
Did use a skill, was small but only way I could think he could run so far.

@[Riddle] <i>You do have to total up the xp use yourself, I apologize if you find it complicated, but the <a href="http://sverige.wikia.com/wiki/XP">XP</a> wiki page has everything listed, you just have to go down the list and pick which ones you qualify for.

As well, you do need to utilize your skill within the bounds of the skill's level. He is only beginner, so softening the earth under his paws as he tries to run would be far too complex for a new user. According to the <a href="http://sverige.wikia.com/wiki/Earth">Earth</a> wiki page, you cannot shape things quite yet as a beginner.

Peryas's eyes flicked immediately to the movement, watching one wolf run after the thing. She said goodbye to the wolves remaining, and wandered in that direction, but didn't immediately run after it. Her intense curiosity warred with her caution and the memory of the horrid stench, but eventually, she decided to investigate further.
