Crash Landings

Aamu was panting, and happy that Torro but the chair in place for the last bit. She stood, but only shakingly, and just nodded. Rest was what she needed indeed. She felt numb - she would probably be very stiff in the morning from her fall and the ignoring of most of the pain - and would likely have just laid down right there by the door if the male hadn't been talking to her. Pushing that human wooden thing had really taken the last of her resources.

She walked slowly towards the dried grass in the corner and laid down. At least in this place the floor wasn't very cold. It smelled vaguely of dogs and mice, but she couldn't care. As Torro came in her direction, she smiled and closed her eyes. "Good night, Farg."

Torro could faintly see her as she laid down, and closed her eyes. A smile was next, and then she called him Farg. He snorted in response, and chuckled before replying in soft tones. "Good night, dove." To be respectful, he moved away from her, and curled up under the human thing that had a lot of trinkets on it as well.

When Torro opened his eyes again the shack was full of light, and he could peek over his wing to see Aamu still sleeping. A smile crept upon his maw. She looked so cute when she was asleep! He didn't move, but instead opted to watch her breath in and out until she woke up on her own accord.

Aamu quickly slept, not even noticing that Torro had found a spot for his own. Instead, she slept peacefully, being tired enough not to even dream as far as she could remember.

When she finally woke, the sun stood high enough to light the entire hut, and she blinked, staring right into the golden pools of the male. Uncomprehending, she blinked again. What was he...? Oh. Yes. The night before came back, and she smiled at him so as to say good morning. Or afternoon. She wasn't sure.

Then, she remembered something else. He had been supposed to warn her pack. "Oh!" She jerked upright. "I should get back!" Suddenly awake, she started around the room, although she halted back by the bookcase where they had had so much fun the other night. She saw something she hadn't noticed before, a bit away and hidden behind the wooden structure. Curious now, she looked at it, wondering what it would do, then looked back at her new friend.

He smiled back at her and was uncurling himself from his place when she exclaimed and bolted straight up. He arched an eyebrow in surprise at her, and then nodded. "Right. I'll go with you." Torro stopped mid stride when she did, and looked curiously at the contraption that she was interested in. He glanced at her with yellow orbs, and tilted his crown toward that one.

"See if you can get it out. I'm gonna see if there's any more over here." He said as he moved to the other side, and took a peek at it. When he found there was one there he wagged his tails in delight, and stuck his nose in to nuzzle it out. Mistake number one. The moment his maw came in contact with it, it snapped shut on his face.

A startled, and pained yelp left his maw as he threw himself back in surprise, and slammed against the wall behind him. "Aamu!" He called, his eyes watering. "Don't touch that devil con-" it was then he heard the familiar snap, and he carefully moved to see where it got her.

The dark orange female nodded. It was a good thing that he proposed, to get it out to have a better look at it. While he padded away in search of another one, she prodded at it with her front left paw. It didn't seem to do anything, and so she tried to grasp it from the upper side to - "Ouch!" followed the snap immediately. Jumping back on three paws with a soft whine, balancing with her left wing for a bit, she shook her paw to get rid of it. But to no end. It had snapped shut and taken her paw.

She looked back at Torro. "You were saying?" she started, but then grinned. "You know, you don't have to literally put your nose in everything!" she teased, but on a more serious note went on. "Can you get it off?" Her paw was starting to go numb at it, and it still hurt - although less if she didn't move it too much.

Upon a closer look as her lifted paw he came to the conclusion that she had done it before she could be warned. She began to tease him, stating that he didn't have to stick his nose into everything. He smiled for a moment but it hurt too badly to do, so he went stoic again. "But then I'd be three-legged like you. At least I have all four paws still." He teased back, and then looked down at the contraption with his eyes only.

He shook his crown a little bit, and found that it was clamped shut on his skin. He shook his crown no, and commented "Unless I wanna rip half my handsome face off, that's a no go." He grinned cheesily at her, and spoke again. "Know any one that could get them off for us?" He would have tilted his head but that would have hurt.

The female shrugged. "Three legs is better than having my face eaten. I bet yours hurts more than mine." she answered, but grimaced after that. It did hurt.

She looked at the contraption at her paw, and gathered air to make some kind of wig out of it, like she'd done when practising the lifting of pebbles with her lilac Alpha. However, she lost her focus quickly, and blinked. She herself was unable to do it, so she really needed help. "I bet it would be no problem for Shy, it being all wood and metal. But he's gone away now, and..." she stopped herself mid-sentence, then lit up. "But Freyja has earth too! Maybe she can help!" Or she could help her using air. Freyja also knew things about healing plants, she'd noted, so she surely would know of something. Besides, Aamu could think of no-one else as of yet. Now she had double reason to hurry home quickly.

Torro nodded in agreement, and began to movr toward the door gingerly. "Are you going to be able to make it all the way to Divum on three legs? Can you get enough speed to fly?" He asked, leaning his body against the door to hold it open for her before continuing out into the wide open spaces. His gold wings were beginning to ache a little bit, but not in a painful manner.

Just a tall-tale sign that something was changing thanks to the radiation that was soaked into everything on this terrain. He glanced toward Aamu and grinned slightly. "If I grew three nore appendages would you still be my friend?" He hoped he wouldn't grow any more.

OOC: lol I'm gonna have Aamu slightly change colour when she loses her winter fur - a lighter orange, matching her wings better - so this thing is funny

The orange dynroth grinned. "Of course I can fly. Do not worry about the speed of flight when you're talking to an air mage." she said proudly, and hopped besides him as gracefully as she could, nose in the air - which was of course not so very graceful at all being on three legs. Once outside, she spread her feathery accessories and moved them up and down once. She was still stiff and she could indeed not run to take off, but she didn't feel like she really needed it.

At his comments, she frowned. She'd felt the odd radiations increasing. "I'd probably grow a few tentacles too if we stay here too long." she grinned, then shook her head. "Likely I will still be your friend if you weren't as good-looking as now." she admitted and winked. "Now then, let's see how far I can get," she said and limped towards the side of the boardwalk so that she had a little height compared to the ground below it, even if it wasn't much. She called upon the winds to aid her, sustaining quite a heavy wind - it was about as much as she could do - before taking off. It had been harder than usual and it was a good thing that she'd chosen a slightly higher spot for takeoff as she first went down before making her way up. But she made it. No need to go testing his three paw-theory then.

Torro watched as she summomed a strong wind to help pull herself up into the air, and started falling at first. He cringed, and then regretted it due to the mouse trap on his face. She caught herself though, and began to lift herself into the air. Torro grinned at her before spreading out his wings, and taking a running start down the runway with his wings flapping steadily at his sides. Summoning up his own little breeze of wind he pushed it under his wings to start lifting himself up into the air to join her.

When he reached her he would have smiled but the mouse trap on his face would not permit it so he smiled with his eyes instead. "Wanna lead the way, Aamu?" He asked in his robust lyrics, unbeknownst to him the little specks of white and yellow coming into his wings.
