All at once, it had seemed that they had sort of outgrown their den. Now all of them were just a bit bigger than even mom and almost as large as their dad, so it seemed a bit tight to squish everyone in the den at all times. Skadi didn't mind. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, but she also liked sleeping out under the stars, which to her, felt like sleeping out under the magics, since the stars were light, and there was air all around, and the darkness even made shadows. So it was quite comfortable for her to be there. 

As well, the other change that had happened was that now that they were all older and quite a bit larger, even Sif seemed to look at them as more independent and didn't seem to give them all quite the curious glances that she had when they decided to try and leave the camp area. Which on this morning, as she'd woken up under the just starting to rise sun, lying in a snow drift that she'd made for her bed inside the camp's walls, Skadi had decided to do. After all, they were large wolves now! That meant that things couldn't harm them like when they were small wolves!

So, without any further ado, she had gone about poking her siblings gently to see if they wanted to come with and then had traipsed right out of the camp and headed to the south. She wanted to see the cool stone ruins again! Even if it was going to be hotter down there like the last time, she still wanted to see! So with that in mind she bounded to where she'd thought Sif had taken them last time, but as she got to the grass and rock bridge thing that went over the water, she paused, a bit confused. This wasn't the same place, it was different somehow, there were, weird structures ahead and a forest! And then she also smelled water which made her tail wag happily at the thought.

Since meeting the red Gourom, Freyadim had been dreaming, and day-dreaming about escaping the snow and exploring south. After waking to such a dream he went outside of the warm den to see if anyone was doing anything fun. He sat just outside the den for a few moments, letting the chilling air and light wake him up. As he was yawning, his sister, Skadinna approached him and his maw hung open after the yawn after she invited him to explore. "Tha' sounds great! Let's go!" he said sleepily, and off they went, with Freyadim following behind from a short distance.

The Lerk'shei woke up during the journey. At this point, he didn't mind where he went, he just wanted to go somewhere different. When he could see the ruins he caught up so he was side by side with Skadinna and as they got closer he got more excited. "It's warmer already!" he yipped, loving the feel of the sun on his fur.

Soon, they were at a new place that smelled of other wolves, among other things, but that was what he focused on. "Sis, ya think there are others around?" he asked, flaring his nostrils.

A blaze to keep out the cold

and to color us so bold

in warm hues of a fast-burning

churning life no longer yearning.

Flickering like windblown leaves

fell long ago from frost-touched trees

whose branches swayed with tiny dancers

skies rained down to give no answers

as their bodies pile high

in hills and drifts I just ask why

Skadi was surprised that the other two hadn't wanted to come with. Perhaps Glaicelle was enjoying sleep more than exploring and likely, Borealis was doing is own thing as he was wont to do sometimes. It didn't bother her, she would just have to tell them all about it when she got back! Then, if they found anything cool, they could come back later on and all enjoy it together.

It <i>was</i> warmer down here and she nodded to Frey when he mentioned that fact. She didn't really like it but she was still excited about the travel and she just gave him a weird look. <b>"Do you like it warmer? I think I like the cold better, but I guess this isn't too bad."</b> She woofed in response, although as they stepped further into the ruins, the first shadowy area she saw she sort of padded towards in a manner of speaking, to see that it was a bit cooler there. <b>"I bet there's wolves around! Maybe we should howl for them and see!"</b> She offered as they'd now gotten quite close to some really weird structures that almost looked like a wall, like the one around the camp. It was shinier though, and had plants growing all over it which was weird! <b>"I think this is a wall, like the one around where we live, sort of?"</b> It would make sense, maybe all wolves lived within things that were walls. So without further ado, she howled in her puppyish manner, asking if there were any wolves around.

A smell! A Voice! A Howl!
Seth didn't take too long to notice and within heartbeats he'd dropped the stick he was playing with, back in the water and raced to the wall. Momma and Papa had said not to go beyond, but they hadn't said that nobody could come in! This was going to be great! More wolves were always interesting to meet and maybe they'd know what to do with his stupid self-aware-magic or maybe he could learn a new one! Wouldn't a new one be great?

All this and more raced through his mind, almost slowing him down to then remember what he was doing. Yes! Meeting the voices! He peeked out on a more broken side of the wall to look. "Hiii!" he yelled. He saw no-one in particular, perhaps he should try another hole?

After a few moments of waiting, she heard a bark. She couldn't see it though, not right away, but she answered back. <b>"Hi! Where are you?"</b> it was definitely a bark that sounded younger so maybe there were pups here too! How cool would that be? She looked towards her brother with a wagging tail and started bouncing on all fours, back and forth to try and figure out how to see the other wolf.

Hnng! Seth had no patience, retracting his head rather quickly and ran across the wall to try a new hole. He heard the voice, he knew there was a wolf! In due time he poked his head through several of those holes-in-the-wall to shortly bark out "Here!" every now and then, until he finally spotted something furry. Very furry! Must be a di'shei too! Or at least, not a Stella or an Auntie-Ata-wolf. "Here! Oh hey!" he barked at the giant fur-mass, which must most definitely be the wolf he was looking for! If only they looked his way though.

The gentle rustle of a summer breeze through the trees above had lulled Skye into a noonday nap at the base of his favorite tree. In his dreams he zipped through the trees with incredible speed, dodging fallen limbs and huge tree trunks. His paws, twitched and wiggled in response to these subconscious visions. All too soon however his ears heard unfamiliar barks, that drifted past the barriers of his mind and invaded his dream. The unfamiliar voices became pleasant phantoms drifting about the clouds until his eyes lazily opened and he groggily looked for the source of such sounds. Off in the distance more towards the boarder that Mom and Dad had strictly said was off limits he could make out the sounds of maybe his brother and an unfamiliar bark scattered here and there. Not wanting to be left out of the fun Skye quickly stretched the sleepiness from his bones and took off as fast as his legs would carry him. Sure he wasn't zipping through the trees like in his dream but at least he was faster than his siblings.

In little time he closed the distance between himself and the voices that drifted leisurely through the summer air. It was apparent that no one was in any danger and so he felt no need to be alarmed or careful about anything. He soon saw two very fluffy wolves that looked similar in age, although quite a bit larger than himself or his siblings. He had heard his brother but he didn't seem him right away. It seemed he was playing hide and seek or something. Ignoring the game he trotted up to the strangers and trying to be the grown up, as he was the other brother, he used the biggest bravest, most adultest voice he had and barked, <b>"Who goes there?" </b>He stood as tall as he could, even though there was no way he could be as big as these other two wolves-ever.

"I love i' warmer! I cannae get warm in all tha' snow! Tha's why I make fiar." he told his sister, with a proud, tall stance. Soon after Skadinna suggested the action, he rose his muzzle to the sky and howled with his sister. His howl was quite low and powerful for his age and he held his proud stance long after the howl.

The poor pup froze when he heard a response, however. Though he was usually excitable about these kinds of things, today was an off day for him. He lowered his head slowly, and let his sister do the talking. The other sounded like a pup too, but he waited for visual confirmation before turning his head to the side. His peripheral vision had caught a greenish head poke out of the wall. "H-hello" he barked quietly, and turned his body, revealing his sister who was blocked from the pup's view. There was no need for Frey to stand tall, as the aqua pup seemed smaller, and this made his more confident- until another appeared who seemed less friendly.

The grey wolf was either very small, or a pup as well, but Frey doubted the latter, since he was acting so serious. "I'm Frey, who are you?" he said in a northern "accent".

With both of her brothers mysteriously gone, little Iiris felt quite a little bit lonely, not wanting to bother her parents and neither of the pack adults. Slowly rising from her comfortable position, she used her nose to navigate as she began searching for her brother's familiar scents. The fact that her senses were sharp and extra sensitive made her quite an expert at doing so and it took her mere moments to catch onto the smell of Skye, quickly trotting in the direction he went. Although it took her a while, despite her feet moving as fast as they could muster, she managed to spot her brother and... strangers. The little girl could also hear her younger brother offer varying degrees of 'Here!' every now and then as he poked his head through the wall holes. She wasn't as daring as them though and the strangers were incredibly large, towering over each of them. Ears and tail lowering, she moved in closer proximity to one of the nearby trees, hoping against hope that they hadn't noticed her and that they wouldn't notice her either, preferring to observe her siblings and their interaction and gauge just how safe it was based on that.

Skadi just grinned at Frey’s response, not upset at hm for being different, just amused. She realized though that she was getting a bit warm out here, but she figured that was because she’d bounced into the sun and instead, then she decided to try and tuck herself into the shady area right by the wall. Fortunately she did that just as the little head popped out and barked again, her brother moving slightly, to which she brushed against him in a pleased manner to trot closer. <b>”Hey! You’re small! Why’s that?”</b> She queried with an inquisitive smile, not sure what else to say in that situation. The little head of the teal wolf was small! But she beamed at the prospect of meeting another wolf, even if it was a really small one.

Then she realized that another grey and green small wolf was coming over too, but this one barked a bit more angrily and to that, Skadi tilted her head to one side, her ears flattening just slightly. <b>”Um. I’m Skadi. We’re from the north! We want to be friends, right Frey?”</b> Looking from the other two to her brother and then back, she wanted to make sure he thought the same thing.
