A strange new thing had come over Vuple in the last few days. She couldn't stop herself from eating. The idea of being a mother one day had inspired her to start eating better. She didn't know what it meant to be a mother but she figured she would have to feed them somehow and something inside her was telling her to eat. 
<br>
With the threat of winter approaching Vuple spent lots of time carrying rocks back and forth to the storage room in her den, that is when she made it back with them. Most of the rocks that she had found had somehow ended up being eaten. She didn't feel in control of her hunger and thought maybe her body knew something she didn't.

She found herself currently with a maw-full of rocks carrying them back to the den as she tried not to eat them.

Pixel found that these days the food storage was not what it should be. Granted, it was becoming autumn, but didn't that meant that more food should be brought in? Or... did Orior not have hunters? Pixel himself was the worst hunter in history and would never have survived without a pack, and now he was lying close to the food storage and staring at the entrance. Would it be okay to take a rabbit? Or would that empty the store completely?

He sighed, tail swishing back and forth. It would be easier if he could just eat plants, like Sijor. Even with his metal-attuned version of an earth affinity, at least he could grow some tall grasses to eat. But he couldn't eat metal... or rocks...

Then suddenly, a sound woke him from his daydream as he saw and heard Vuple shuffle by. What was she carrying all those rocks for? Did she not have magic to do that? He'd thought everybody in Orior had earth magic, but perhaps since she was new... Ah, but she wasn't related to Keita of course. He shook his head and padded forward. "Hiya Vuple! What are those fore?" he wondered.

Vuple paused at the sound of unfamiliar barking. Looking for the source of the barks she noticed Pixel, though she didn't know his name. She had seen him around but had never actually met him before. Slightly annoyed at being distracted she set the now slobbered on rocks down on the ground and greeted him nicely though she would rather ignore him and move on.

"Have we met?" she asked the small wolf, ignoring his question. How did he know her name? That was more important. She looked down at the rocks, tempted to eat them instead of taking them to the storage room.

The grey dwarf gaped at the reddish ubeli for a second. "Wheuh... yes?" he sat down and frowned at her, curious but also a bit worried. "I'm Pixel. Me and Shinshu found you by the lake?" he tried, hoping to spark a memory. It was even weirder that she looked as if she'd never seen him walk around or maybe hadn't even smelled him. Which was strange. He'd known she was there, why didn't she know that he was here? Was he that forgettable?

Ah, now she remembered. He had been the other one there that day. With everything that had been going on these past few days she hadn't remembered right off the bad. "Ah yes, I remember now. I'm sorry I have been quite busy these past few days and I guess I'm not thinking all that well. Maybe I should take a nap or something." she glanced at the rocks again then continued. "I am taking these to my storage room. I'm trying to collect enough for winter so that I don't have to get out in the cold. I hate the cold."

Some part of her felt bad for not remembering the smaller wolf but then again she didn't speak with him often and figured the whole thing would be forgotten quickly.

Ah, well he guessed he was. He sighed, well he hadn't been that sociable either he supposed. Still it was a bit of a downer.

Yet, he was going to be positive now! With a slow wag of his tail he looked at the rocks. "Why do you need those for winter? They're not going to keep you warm I think." he asked her, sincerely wondering if all the progress was just fake and she was still weird in the head.

It took Vuple a moment to realize that this wasn't in fact a stupid question and that not all wolves saw this as a food source. After she realized this she thought it was a perfectly logical question and felt herself to be silly for not mentioning it sooner. "This is what I eat. I forget there are wolves that eat other things." As if to prove her point she devoured one of the rocks she had been carrying. The temptation had been too great and within a few chomps the crumbled rock bits easily slid down her throat ending in a satisfied sigh. "The only problem is I keep eating them instead of storing them!"

Pixel watched with a mixed awe, fascination and jealousy, combined with the small crouching movement he made when she bit on the rock - he almost felt his own teeth crush! Still, it was pretty awesome. "Oh, I wish I could eat something else! Meat is hard to get in the winter, and I could grow my own rocks no problem!" he grinned at Vuple. "Maybe I can make some for you at your den so you don't have to carry them all the way?" he proposed. Surely he could use this affinity to help?

Strange, she had gotten the impression that this particular wolf didn't like her, yet here he was trying to help her do something that wouldn't aid him in any way. Why would he do that? Being the oh so socially awkward wolf she was she simply barked her mind before accepting his help, "Why would you want to help me?" her eyes held no suspicion or anger but instead genuine curiosity. Helping someone for the purpose of helping them and not receiving anything didn't make since. Unless you love that individual like she loved Shinshu...surely pixel didn't love her did he?

Pixel tilted his head. "Well, you're here and you live in Orior, so you're a pack mate. Aren't we supposed to help each other when we can?" he elaborated, feeling weird for having to explain this. Being part of Orior meant to help other wolves! So obviously, especially your pack mates. "Where's your den?" he then asked, wondering which way to go. She smelled of Shinshu a bit, maybe it was close to his?
