"I'm not sure that's a good idea. The other two rooms are smaller, and the smoke might get a little overwhelming. The heat from the one fire will spread throughout the den, I'm almost certain." he barked with a nod. His attention focused now on Vuple's food stock. "Have you a preference?" he asked, thinking that maybe some rocks taste better than others.</td>

She nodded happily, if there was only one then that couldn't take too many rocks. She hated to seem so selfish, especially since they were just rocks. Trying to make up for it she shook her head no to his question. "Take whatever you need." she yipped softly. Then after realizing she had might need to help him with this she asked, "How can I help?"

he stated to her, and took the smoothest big rock he could find and gingerly placed it into his chest pouch. It was so big that it stretched and pinched his skin a little, but he held back any whining. "Only a few steps, I'll be fine." he told himself, and picked two more rocks, a medium smooth one, and a bigger one. The bigger, he put in his mouth, then he turned around and pawed the spherical rock along the path. It would be much easier with earth magic, but since neither had it this would have to do. He did wonder if Vuple would manage to kick along a rock-ball as well, and chuckled at the thought as he made his way to the main chamber.
He piled the rocks in the middle, and set back off to gather another few. Passing Vuple on the way, he said "I'm sure two trips worth of rocks will be enough."
Hop[efully, assuring her that her food pile wouldn't be completely diminished. </td>

Vuple watched her mate with amusement. It was funny to see him so heavy laden with large rocks. She herself couldn't carry that much especially since she didn't have a pouch of her own. Her smaller frame and lack of muscle mass had made her learn to do things her own way. She picked a large stone that was a bit rounder than the others. It proved a futile endeavor to try and roll it with her paw like Shin had. Instead after thinking a moment she backed up to it and placed her rear against it. Pushing using all her weight the rock moved. This delighted her quite a lot. After some doing she continued and eventually made it to the other room. She beamed happily at Shin with a big grin on her face, though she panted slightly at the manual labor.

He trotted back to the soon to be fireplace, and piled the remaining rocks in his pouch atop the others. He then turned and waited for his mate to arrive. Once she did, he had a question. "I'm not sure which to go for, a simple pit where the fire is kept below the den floor, or a small wall surrounding a fire that is on the surface."</td>

She thought about it for a moment, pondering the pros and cons of each design. It seemed that the combination of the two would be the most beneficial. "Why settle on one or the other? It seems that if the fire stayed in the pit just below the den with a small rock wall surrounding it, it would not only be safer for the pups but it would prevent the fire from spreading." Visions of the den fire replayed in her mind. She could never allow anything like that to happen again. Never. She looked to him with a somber face, awaiting his response.

He swiped his paw across the ground a few times, marking a circular area where he had to dig- it was only about the size of his head, so he hummed and looked to the Ubeli. "What do you think? How is the size?" he asked her with a loving sideways grin. </td>

She returned his nuzzle and a smile of her own. She loved to make him proud and adored his sideways grin. It pleased her greatly to be able to be the cause of such a gesture. She watched him draw in the dirt but had no further input for him. She had no idea what the right size was or wasn't and wouldn't want to speak of things she knew so little about. "I have no context to help me answer this question. I don't have any knowledge of such things so whatever you think is best, so do I." Her tone had shifted back to when she had first come to Sverige. It was as if sometimes a nerve was struck and she reverted back. However she didn't ever stay in these stages long and would snap out of it once she focused on something else.

Her response silenced him for a little while he thought upon the size himself. Eventually, he decided to speak up. "I believe a small one would be enough to heat up the small space- wouldn't want it to get too hot, would we?" he said with a small smile. Vuple was the one who seemed to enjoy the heat, and Shinshu didn't mind cuddling her in the winter, but didn't much like the idea of panting all through the year, so small it would be. Looking to the rock pile, he thought of something for his mate to do. "Could you be so kind as to arrange those rocks in size while I dig this?"
he asked with ears a little flat and head low. He never enjoyed bossing someone around, but he did need the help.

"Might as well use my mutation to block dirt- even though they're not tough enough to take much..." he told himself. Blinking to lower his secondary eyelids used for his underwater activities, he started to dig. The dirt that hit his eye still hurt and caused him to shake his head about, but not as much as normal. Finesse was not Shinshu's strong point, so he needed his eyes to guide digging this pit, rather than a den that would require less intricacy.</td>

Vuple cocked her head to the side while she listened to his plans. It seemed he had the plans all worked out. This further exemplified to her that she needn't try to give any suggestions. She would have picked the wrong one. Having the fire would help stave off the bitter cold winter but she knew little of how it would affect other areas of the den. While she knew she liked tnhings toasty, she assumed Shin wasn't the same.
She watched him work for a moment. She loved the determined look on his face. He had such an unconventional way of doing things. With a slight adjustment here or there with his paws and hips he could avoid some of the dirt flying about but that was Shin. And she loved him just the way he was. He was kind and strong, clumsy and ungraceful, charming and warm and she loved him. All of him. Just the way he was.
She didn't take any mind to his order. She didn't even take it as an order per-say just him asking for help. That is all she wanted to do- help him. It was now very clear to her that she was made to be with him, to help him in any way she could. After all this time she finally figured out why she had been born. Why she had been thrust into an existence with such a dreary start. It was to be right here, in this moment...organizing rocks. She chuckled to herself a bit as she rolled the smaller stones into a semi-straight line. To some organizing rocks would be laborious and monotonous but not to her. She was with him. It didn't matter what they did, where they were, or who else was around as long as they were together. That is all she ever wanted.
