Sif was pleased to see that she had, at least temporarily, knocked the ubeli out of the sky. Not that it would last, these feathered types were all too fond of their wings, after all, but it would hopefully disillusion her some that she was entirely safe just doing magical attacks. Whcih was why she was only a bit annoyed at the rage fueled Abyss' lunge and flight towards the top of her hea din retaliation. She had expected as much, the mage realizing that she was not simply powerful enough in those last two attacks and becoming more aggrivated as a result. Those pompous wolves needed to be taken down a peg, and even as Sif felt the ear ripped from her head, she still felt that she was gaining the upper paw.

That was, until she felt the venom running through her. For a moment, she shook her head, looking down at the ground, the sword slipping from her grasp and clattering downwards loudly on the ground, bouncing and reflecting a moment as it did so. Pain coursed through her and she shut her eyes suddenly, shaking her head. No. The deceptive wolf had poison in her. That was even a worse insult than the flying and the magic, and Sif gritted her teeth and forced herself to look back up at her opponent, whom was now shaking her ripped off ear all over, blood dripping from it and splattering down all over the snow in crimson streams. She was too far now for Sif to reach but not too far away for magic, and now, now she really needed to strike, if only to take back some control over the situation.

As she harnessed her light energy, she narrowed her silver eyes, her entire body giving off a bluish white glow. For a moment, as she focused through the pain on her opponent, she thought she saw a ghostly spectre of a robed creature with a similar large weapon standing off to one side of the ubeli in mid-air. No. That couldn't be real. Continuing to gather her <i>light affinity</i> she reached out with the powerful beam of light again, giving a grim smile as it hit it's target dead-center.

She had thought that she had dealt a rather definitive blow to the large lerkrat. Even now she seemed affected by the poison from her fangs and she laughed aloud at the effects as the ear splattered blood everywhere, the wolf having fun painting the ground with red streams before simply flinging it away. As she did so, however, she noticed that something suddenly had changed. The wolf below her seemed to have a bright blue-white aura that suddenly arose up out of nowhere and before the ubeli could even think to dodge, a beam of light reached out and knocked her clear out of the sky again with it's bright flash and disorienting shock. <i>This must have been what Aporia's foes felt like. Such power!</i> She had time to think before she crashed into a tree on her downward trajectory.

However, Abyss knew that she was at the other's mercy down on the ground but the severe pain in her chest now made her pause before trying to take off into the air again, attempting to draw in a few more full breaths to steady herself. Narrowing her eyes, she knew that she had to do something that the other would not anticipate and, trying to buy herself some more time, she reached out with her <I>blood affinity</i> for the strands of blood that had been flung upon the ground. They would make for a good weapon, and they rose up slowly, whipping about in the air, reaching out for Sif as well as she could. However, they simply could not reach from the distance she had been flung and she tired of that shortly with a huff of angry breath, steadying herself for her opponent's next onslaught as best she could, still unable to fully rise into the air.

The great grey wolf watched her hit strike and her opponent fall and a grim smile came to her muzzle, bending down to pick the sword up again in her muzzle from where it had fallen. It hadn't been a fight she had wanted, nor one that she had started, but she would finish it nonetheless. Stalking forwards towards the position that she had seen the ubeli fall, she narrowed her eyes sharply as the trails of blood that had been left by the torn ear on the snow suddenly seemed to rise up as if bidden somehow. <i>Magic. Another of her accursed ones.</i> Sif growled, pausing with intent to strike back if she needed to but the whips of blood did not reach her and simply fell back to the snow. Then, the lerkrat smiled, hoping that this meant that her foe was tiring so the end of this battle would be easier than she would hope.

Her keen gaze spotted the ubeli underneath of a tree, having been flung there, looking rather worn and hurt. Perhaps if her foe had been an honorable one, she might have given her a chance to flee. As it was, however, her deception and the intense pain that was still coursing through her due to the poison made her realize that she needed to end this definitively if it were to end at all. The great grey sped up then, roaring towards her opponent as fast as her powerful strides could take her and went for a slam attack at her opponent, twisting the sword to strike and slice, using all of her massive strength to power through and attempt to crush bone and slice flesh. If she could end her once and for all that would be ideal.

The black wolf was calculating what would happen and she braced herself as she saw the great grey beast get closer. She knew what was next, her opponent had felt her fang and her magic and would not give her any quarter. So she was ready when the huge lerkrat came charging at her, swinging that sword in an attack that was obviously meant to slice her in two. Fortunately, however, it seemed the venom had made her opponent's strength a bit less than she had hoped, for the sword did sink into the flesh of her chest above her right foreleg, but did not strike any vital organs. Abyss let out a howl of pain unintentionally but that was enough to send her into an adrenaline - fueled leap into the air, having recovered enough at least so that the pain was not too much to breathe with, although now she was streaming blood from a major area and that simply would not do.

Or perhaps would it? Calling upon her <i>blood affinity</i> again as she winged up into the air, she turned the howl into a cackle as she attempted once more to tie Sif up with streams and whips of blood, intending to lash out at the other wolf and cause some of the pain that she had inflicted to return to her. It worked better than before, lashing upon the tough hide and spattering the silver wolf with gore as the ubeli laughed at her opponent's plight. She was using her own wound to harm her!

She had hit the black witch and she felt the blade cut into sinew and flesh, blood spurting out in a good amount. However, due to the venom that still ran through her, she could feel that it had not been hard enough, and the ubeli suddenly took off into the sky again with a flurry of wing flaps, getting herself out of Sif's immediate range. Then, the blood that was streaming from her leg started to whip about again, and this time Sif felt the lashes into her hide, but her hide was tough and this would not bring her down so easily. Instead, she lowered her head and backed up, scowling a bit as the pain still coursed through her from the witches' dark poison.

So she was in the air again, Sif was familiar with this dance, and focused her gaze aloft again. A phantom suddenly seemed to lurk just behind the other wolf, a tall creature with an even larger sword than she had, a tuft of some sort atop its head, but the rest of its features were hidden by a shiny silver tinge. She shook her head at this strange hallucination she was having, but despite the strangeness of it all, it merely firmed her resolve, bringing forth a memory of a battle long ago fought. Swinging the sword to focus her strike, she sent out a sharp blade of the <i>light affinity</i> now, to slice at the ubeli's wings, the light hitting at least one of it's targets, feathers raining down upon the ground.

How was the lerkrat doing this? She hadn't thought of the large warrior like species to be anything but fit for physical violence but here this Sif was, simply blasting her every time she went into the sky. As the light arc came, she tried to dodge, but the slicing magic cut right at one of her wings, nearly taking all of her feathers off, sending the ubeli lopsided in the sky and painful. Stubbornly flapping the other wing, she knew that falling to the ground again would be a death sentence and she focused on what magic she knew she had left that might even affect the grey giant, having not had much luck so far with what she'd utilized before.

Her <i>air affinity</i> came quite easily to her, and the winds whipped around her form as she sent back her own slices to dice up the lerkrat, blades of air that would strike and cut her just as they had her own flesh. They hit this time easily, leaving rents upon flesh, and bloodying the other wolf even further, which led her to cackle maniacally from above. <b>"You cannot win against a true mage! You may as well lay down that blade and surrender to the magic!"</b>

The grey giant could see her opponents' tattered form, somehow the ubeli managing to keep herself aloft even with a now tattered wing. It was surprising how much strength she had within herself to do so and Sif might have admired that at another time. However, right now, she still felt the pain of the venom and the desire to end this confrontation once and for all, not only for the good of her own life, but the good of all others that had been affected by this monster of a wolf. So she gritted her teeth against the attack that came, the blades of air striking her flesh, but not moving, merely keeping herself focused on her opponent so as to not lose track. She would make sure the ubeli fell from the sky this time, no matter what. Then she could finish her.

Instead of distracting her, the pain she felt as the blades cut flesh made her more aware, and with another swing of her sword, she used it to focus the effect of her <i>light affinity</i>, using it to create another blade of light to strike at the other wing, hoping that it would be enough. She was a bit surprised to see that the burst of light flew just as true as the previous had, striking the remaining untouched wing and she could smell the burning of feathers as it struck it's target.

Screeching now in pain, the ubeli felt the light blade strike her remaining good wing and sizzle most of the feathers off with it as well, leaving her no choice but to plummet to the ground and land with a fierce snarl. It simply wasn't right that one wolf would have so much power, and yet still be such a clumsy beast and she narrowed her eyes as she wasted no time, even as her wounds still bled and sizzled with pain, she focused her entire being on the wolf that was plaguing her so. <i>She</i> was the dominant creature here, Abyss, not this joker of a lerkrat! She would show this wolf what a <i>real</i> magic user could do!

With that in mind, she formed as large of an orb of water in front of her with her <I>water affinity</i> that she could muster and flung it at her opponent with all her magical might. However, even as she did so, she changed it's state to that of ice, making it form into an icey spike as it flew towards the lerkrat, catching her side with a satisfying crunch as ice pierced flesh and she howled with glee. <b>"You cannot withstand me, even on the ground you fall prey to my magical might!"</b> She would screech as she spread her sizzled wings out to the sides, willing herself past the pain to stalk forwards, ready for what was to likely come next. The grey wolf did not have the power, due to the venom, to really take her on, at least that was what she thought.

She was pleased to see the ubeli land, wings clearly seriously affected by the blades of light she had struck her with. However, the black wolf seemed to act even faster now as suddenly, Sif was being struck by a manifestation of ice, piercing her side and causing her to grit her teeth in pain. The cold was not what affected her, but even her tough hide could not keep out a piercing instrument and the spike lodged deep in the muscles of her left haunch, causing her leg to freeze up and spasm with the pain. Yet, she still turned about and faced Abyss, even as the other cackled about how weak she thought Sif was. The warrior wolf was not about to let silly taunts affect her, and she willed herself past the pain into action.

Springing forwards, she moved her head to turn the sword into a piercing instrument, using a similar tactic, but with a sharp blade, rather than a magical manifestation of ice. Using the strength that she could call upon that was greater than any other wolf, she channeled it into the point of the sword, spearing towards her opponent in order to deeply pierce her hide as well. The impact was great and she felt the sword go deep and she let go of it as she finished her charge, attempting to side step and be ready for what was inevitably coming next.

The ubeli bared silver fangs, crouching with her wings spread to face the brunt of this attack, she didn't even bother to move, the other attack had not had the might behind it that she expected, and she felt it was due to her successful poisoning of the other. However, this time, she was in for a surprise and the sword, pushed by the extreme strength of the other wolf, slid into her chest with an explosive force, narrowly missing her heart, but piercing a lung as it went deep into one side. Pain blossomed all throughout her and she coughed, falling to a knee, as the weight of the massive wolf that had dealt the blow let up and moved to one side. Blood flowed from her lips as she spat at her opponent, a gleam still in her eye of malicious intent, not giving up on the idea that she would yet win this battle. She did not understand how the lerkrat was even doing any of this, but she would win. She <i>had</i> to win!

She channeled that desire and drive into her next attack, using her <i>air affinity</i> to send a massive buffet of air against the other, simultaneously striking her with harsh winds, intending on blinding her with their intensity, and also using them to help loft her back into the air once more. She struggled a bit at flapping her still injured wings, but she had severely miscalculated before and she would not do so again. Abyss' pride could not allow her to feel that her own life blood, even while slowed due to her blood affinity, was still leaving her body at an alarming rate. Her mind was focused only on one thing: destroying the great grey wolf.
