A dark figure made his way to the south, more concerned with being out of the way of his last new acquaintance than where he was going. Some long time ago, he had been told a powerful earth mage lived in a pack close by and was of that goodhearted nature of helping every passer-by, but it hadn't really registered back then and certainly was forgotten now.

He neared the forest, smelled the vague scent marks and totally could care less. He had smelled water, after all, so he walked through without even a blink of an eye, straight towards the water that offered him a fresh drink on such a hot day. His black fur just wasn't what one should ever want while in Sverige's summer, even though it helped him move through the nights without too much of an effort.

<td class = "ShinshuStyle ShinshuPostingArea" colspan="2">Shinshu was lying at the edge of the lake with most of his body submerged, trying to evade the heat of the hot summer, when the wind swept across his muzzle to reveal quite a powerful scent. An unfamiliar male Dynroth was quite close. "Certainly within the border" he thought to himself. Immediately, he rose and started leisurely padding towards him. He was in no rush, as he though it was just another portaled wolf who was lost, or someone that had failed to sense the border. After all "Who else would be in our borders?" </td>

When the wind finally decided to bring him a fresher wolf scent, it just hád to be one very close to the lake. He almost sighed at that idea, but perhaps there still was a way to talk himself out of this. After all, the scent marks where he had crossed could have used some renewing by now to his opinion. And whoever had a large water source nearby should be able to share it, to his opinion.

He did not stop nor did he slow down. Instead, the large dynroth continued his course. He'd be spoken to soon enough, he supposed. If he was going to play the ignorant wolf, better be as ignorant as could be.

He corrected his course to aim straight for him, and adorned a sideways grin on his face. "Greetings!" he barked, but paused until he got a little closer. "I am Shinshu, protector of Orior Lake!" he signed, with a low bow accompanying it. </td>

He was greeted by a white, or mostly white, wolf, with blue markings and fins. Raffia could only hope he'd never start looking that ridiculous. The grin on the lerk's face did not seem to make this any better, but Raffia was at least glad, that the lerk wasn't much larger than he. Shinshu, he said his name was, and, his title... Protector of the Lake. "Does water need protection?" he barked as he stopped to look at the other male. He tried to come off as surprised, and although he was, he realized that his tone was rather more harsh and sarcastic. Well, so far for the ignorant wolf plot.

Most wolves here are not adapted to swim as well as I, and a lot of the land is the lake." he explained with his signature sideways smile. The Lerk was being polite, however he did pick up on the other male's sarcastic vibe.</td>

A lot of the land is the lake. Well, whenever that started to make sense to Raffia, he'd be sure to let the lerk know. He almost glared at the white male's smirk, but didn't comment again. Instead, he made a shrugging motion. "Would you mind if I drank a little? It's too hot a day for black fur, that much I can tell you." he decided on. Perhaps he could even avoid the use of his name, but if not, then so be it. He was not on the course of making friends here, though. But he found that he could not bring himself to care right now. Perhaps he was more moody because of the heat.

"You are welcome to swim too, if you'd like" he offered in his low barks, and started his way back to the lake, at the pace the the black was previously going at, and it didn't take them long at all to get there. With any other wolf, Shinshu would've relaxed at this point, but instead, he stayed standing beside him. "May I ask if you belong to a pack?" he questioned, with a head tilt. </td>

Welcome to swim? No-a-thank-you! Still, he did nothing more than huff, really, and followed the male to the lake. True enough, it was good swimming and drinking water if anyone would be even mildly intereste- oh, well, perhaps if you had fins you would. Crazy mutts.

Instead of swimming, Raff opted for a few steps into the water at the shallows, cooling his aching paw paws and then taking a long, satisfying drink. His ears perked at the question that was asked, though he took his time to swallow more water before answering. "You could, but it's a simple, negative answer, so I wouldn't really bother." he told the male - so many words for a complicated answer that really said... nothing. He grinned a little.

Gritting his teeth, he tried his best to keep his cool. "World Spirit, give me strength..." he silently prayed, momentarily looking to the sky. He walked into the shallows, next to the stranger, and gathered some water with his magic. Little droplets surrounded him, and soon rained upon his fur. He was not one to show off, but he did not want to lie down next to the seemingly untrustworthy male.
