Sif nodded, understanding what the young wolf was pointing out. Yes, she did think he was stronger than his sister, for she had never witnessed the young female really doing anything with physical effort, only with magic. Which seemed to fit the mother's type at any rate, so perhaps it was a female trait, rather, to focus more on magic in their small family. Frey mentioned that he could take down a deer, which the huge lerkrat nodded at, impressed and then she let out a small laugh at the idea of carrying stuff around to get stronger. He wasn't wrong, but there were better ways, she thought. <b>"If you want to get stronger, instead of training your mind with magic, you train your muscles. But simply carrying stuff, well that won't show you the best way to apply your strength. Especially if you want to defend others. Come."</b>

Then, the great grey wolf would walk towards a nearby boulder that was leaning up against a tree. It was just about as big as she was and fairly heavy. No match for the one that covered the entrance most times, but still pretty hefty. A normal wolf couldn't move it, but perhaps she'd see how Frey approached the situation. Nodding to it with her huge head, she barked to him. <b>"Just try and move that however you can but only with your muscles. I want to see your approach to it, do not mind if you cannot do it just now. This is a lesson."</b> Hopefully, the youth wouldn't try so hard so as to harm himself with the effort, this lesson was all about learning how to do something, not just the action of doing it.

His slow mind whirred at her reply while he nodded slowly. "Ah can use both magic and muscles, aye? Fire is bloody useful up here in th' snow." he told her. It kept him warm, so that he could be with his only family, his sister. He followed Sif to the boulder, and looked it up and down. It wasn't too large, but not small either. After approach, he got up onto his hind legs, putting his forepaws on the rock and pushing with his back legs. His hind legs dug into the snow as he pushed, but soon gripped solid ground.
He grit his teeth, pushed and pushed, but it wouldn't budge.</td>

Sif watched Frey as he tried to move the boulder. The young wolf did just what every other wolf would do, honestly, and what she had done herself once upon a time. Nowadays, her strength was such that such a tactic would work quite easily, but it had not always been so. One had to develop their muscles to know where and how to apply force, and it was easiest to start with places on the body that were more equipped to put that sort of force to bear. Snorting softly, she nodded to the male. <b>"Ah. You've got the idea, but not the application. You're new at this, your muscles aren't as developed yet. So, in that manner, you want to use a body part that's able to allow you to apply that force as well as you can."</b>

With that short explanation, she herself moved over to the boulder. With what seemed like just an idle shove, she set her massive shoulder against the boulder and nudged it, causing it to roll forwards just slightly before coming to a heavy rest again. Then, she stepped back and looked at Frey again with a nod. <b>"At first, you have to use the stronger parts of your body to build up the strength. Otherwise, you'll get defeated too easily. Shoulders are one of the strongest parts, where you can put all that muscle to bear, especially with your heritage."</b> After all, his father had been a lerkrat, like she, so there was really no reason he would not have stronger shoulders than the average non-lerkrat wolf.

The male Lerk'shei was a slow learner, so with Sif's first words, he didn't know what she meant, but with the demonstration, he nodded slowly, then a little faster as she seemed to put it more plainly towards the end. "Shoulders, aye?" he repeated to confirm. He set himself up at the other side of the rock that the Queen had pushed it from, and with all his might, he shoved it with his shoulder, causing it to wobble a little. A little disappointed at that, he bared his teeth at the large rock, and nudged it again, and again,
causing a rocking motion, and soon, he used his above average muscles to push the rock back into its original place.

Freyadim flopped to the floor, panting. "Ah've a lot of practisin' to do...." he chuckled, looking up to the giant Lerk with a grin. </td>

She nodded, watching him attempt. For such a beginner at this, he seemed to have some good muscles worked up and that did not surprise her, once she recalled Yukon. He had been a very strong wolf in his own right and she had to say she missed him around. It had been nice to have another lerkrat around that she could rely on to help protect the lands if needed. However, now it seemed she could rely on Freyadim, once perhaps he got himself a bit more well-versed in things. At his panting response that this would take some practice, she nodded with a grin. <b>"Aye, it will. Anything that you want to get good at takes practice for sure. Nothing comes just easy without any effort. Always remember that you know."</b> It was a good lesson, whether it be here in this arena of training strength, or in other places or situations.

Then she decided she'd approach another facet of this entire process. <b>"Frey, what would you do if you were faced with a threat to your family? Using your strength or even your magic."</b> She queried him, attempting to get him to think perhaps a bit more about the process of such.

The giant "pup" got back onto his feet, and nodded at his Queen. "Aye! Ah'll remember. Thank ye." he barked back. He knew from experience with fire magic, that it took much effort to get good at anything. For a moment, he thought upon that, until his name was called, and his eyes snapped to attention. The question she asked was an easy one, in his mind, so he was, for once, quick to answer. "Well, ah never want te hurt anywolf, enemy or not... ah'd try to scare 'em off with wha' I can do wi' fire." he explained.
This had always been his plan from the beginning. "If tha' didn't work, ah'd fight to the best of my ability ..." he trailed off, thinking for a moment. He didn't like the thought of causing harm to another, but for the pack, Skadinna especially, he'd do anything.</td>

The idea of scaring off a foe wasn't a bad one and she nodded. <b>"Fire has many good uses, you have to think outside the normal realm of what you might think it can be used for. It's a good idea, and one that I think would work, aye."</b> Her great head would nod as he continued to explain himself. At least she was pleased that he would look for a way to simply rid the foe from the area first. She was a bit worried of the younger wolf being a bit too brash, or perhaps even simply trying to be more like his absent father would have wanted him to and making bad decisions. They weren't her pups, but she felt protective over them nonetheless.

<b>"I would then, practice your physicality until you feel that you are able to wield your body appropriately. The basics of fighting against another wolf do rely on knowing exactly what you can handle and what sort of force you can mete out to another. Does that make sense?"</b> If the youth was going to fling himself at another without truly understanding his own worth well, that would definitely serve a problem in the end. Sif did not want that to happen so she hoped he would understand what she meant.

He gave a huge grin to his superior as she seemed to approve of his technique. He'd thought about it, even had dreams of scaring off foes with his magic tricks, and now he had her approval. For a moment, he stood straight, looking proud, until Sif spoke again, and he relaxed in fear of looking rude. Her words reached his ears and he nodded. "Ah'll be able to move that rock easy in no time!" he barked, in an almost taunting way towards the boulder.</td>

Sif chuckled softly, nodding to the youthful exuberance that Frey was exhibiting. It seemed he was well on his way towards bigger and better things, and she could only encourage it. <b>"I think that you will have an easy time of it, so long as you stay true to yourself."</b> Not that he likely needed the reminder, but without any other parents around, perhaps it was up to Sif to provide a bit of parental-like wisdom from time to time. Finding then, that it seemed this meeting had come to its end, she gave him a swish of her tail and a nudge with her muzzle as she went to walk on by him. <b>"Knight Freyadim, then, do your best."</b> She would bark as she would leave him now with his new sense of duty.
