He didn't know what had happened to the green-eyed man, but there was a sense of betrayal within his gut. It felt like a kick right to the teeth. Then again, he couldn't really speak very much because he disappeared himself. Castiel took a deep breath, blue eyes closing for a moment as he came to a pause near Divum. 

He'd disappeared from home more times than he could count on one paw. He didn't have a reason to sulk in self-pity. His twin banners twitched behind him as he opened his eyes and parted his jaws to howl for anyone that was a part of Divum. He didn't even know if his family was still here but it was worth a shot, wasn't it?

The lavendar colored di'shei had just about given up on finding any of the lost wolves to Divum. Honestly, she'd looked just about everywhere she could think of, and still, there were several young wolves missing that had lived there, including the wolf who had been a bulwark of the pack, Shiloh. It had saddened her, but she honestly knew that if there was nothing she could do, at least she'd make sure Divum was still a welcoming place and a place of safety for those whom might want it. To that effect, she kept her vigil over the packlands quite well, ensuring that if any visitors came to call, she would be able to greet them right away. After all, Divum was still a haven to those whom would want it, this was something she still firmly believed even with the losses of late.

On this day, it seemed that one did come calling, the howl coming up towards her through the winds, causing her to immediately change her direction and head back to the earth. However, as she got closer, her keen sight picked out the form that was a bit more familiar looking, she thought, than it should be. Then the scent caused her to push herself down to a landing even faster, her air affinity pushing herself with more speed than one could normally manage. Landing with a gentle thump on the grass just near the barrier that surrounded the packlands, she smiled, her silvered gaze bright with welcome as her tail wagged, the end swishing over the grasses. <b>"Castiel. Welcome back."</b> Her melodic bark carried out, a sense of gratefulness emanating through it that one of the lost wolves had returned. Freyja dipped her head in welcome, hoping that he would stay long enough for his family to greet him as well. It had been such a long time, and she was pleased to see him whole once more.

His ears twitched on top of his crown as he heard the thump of weight upon the grassy terrain not far from him. His head twisted on his neck so that he could gaze at the lavender colored di'shei that he'd known from his birth. Twin tails lashed behind him from side to side in greeting as he turned his body to face her head on. <strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"Freyja!"</strong> He barked in greeting as he moved closer, his cream colored frame standing out among the surrounding scenery. He had been away for long enough that he didn't know that Shiloh had gone missing or that his brothers as well were gone. He had been gone long enough to be unaware of all the changes that has befallen Divum.

Ignorance was bliss.

<strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"How are you?"</strong> He would ask politely, his haunches rolling so he could recline upon them.

She looked him over as he came closer and she noticed that it did surely look like he'd been having to survive on his own for some time. There were just things one could tell about a wolf that had spent some time alone and she was sad that it had somehow come to that. She had thought that the family had gotten past all of their conflicts of the past, but apparently, some still had remained enough to keep Castiel away so long. <b>"I have been well, but it is good to see you back. I had worried you lost, like the many others that are now gone from here."</b> There was no reason to beat about the bush. After all, he should know whom was still here and whom was not. <b>"Shiloh has gone, and I have not seen your other brother for some time now. All that is left is myself, Aamu and Aurora. They will be quite glad to see you. I hope you are considering staying about for a bit?"</b> Her tones were hopeful, ears perked to hear his response, imagining that at least if he did not want to stay for good that he would at least stay for some time to see his family.

That couldn't be right. There was his mom, and Gabe, and 'rora. And of course, Shiloh! He would never leave. He loved Divum, didn't he? He was just about to say so when she revealed that this was not so. For an <b>abbreviated</b> moment he was stunned and it showed on his face. It would not do to keep her waiting for a reply, however, so he was forced to go through an <b>ephemeral</b> thought process. <strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"I.. I don't understand how this could have happened."</strong> Castiel says out loud, sadness washing over his heart as he took in the news.

Could there be another <b>perfidious</b> danger out there lurking in the shadows? he simply didn't know. He shook his head to clear his head of the depressing thoughts and forced Caribbean blue eyes to focus on the lavender di'shei once again. <strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"I wish to come back to Divum to stay. I do not think I will be leaving again anytime soon. At least, for as long as I can help it."</strong> He tells her, a steely determination washing over his features.

Freyja could understand the confusion from Castiel, and the look of sadness made her feel even more poignantly what she had lost as well with all of this. Shiloh had been the last remaining link to her dearly departed friend Sorine, and that was something that would forever cause her pain. She nodded solemnly. <b>"I do not know how or why. I do not think Shiloh would willingly step through one of those . . . portals . . . and leave us, so I suspect there was some sort of trickery involved. Yet, there are the others that are gone as well, your father, other sister, and brother. Perhaps there was something that took them all at once. It is impossible to tell for sure."</b> After all, it wasn't as if any of those wolves surely, would just be wandering and never return to say anything. No, they all had deeply rooted ties here and that made no sense.

However, Castiel mentioned that he wished to return for good this time and that brought a smile to her muzzle. Her tail swished as well at the pleasing idea. <b>"We certainly would be glad to have you back. Although I am curious, was it a portal that came and swept you away for a time and brought you back? I do hope it wasn't anything else keeping you away. As well, your friend is welcome here too. Never fear for that."</b> She hadn't seen the mentioned friend come up with him, and she worried that he was hanging back, hiding away for fear of being seen. Even while his previous introduction to the pack had been a bit volatile, Freyja had hoped they'd patched that up sufficiently back then so that it wouldn't be any more of an issue.

He shook his head, a soft sigh filtering between ebony lips as sorrow washed over him. Why had he been gone for so long? All his mother and sister had was each other from the sound of it. he should have been here the whole time. <strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"Deacon disappeared too."</strong> Castiel says, not offering the information that he'd been mated by the dark male. He shook his cranium free of the melancholy thoughts that threatened to reel out of control and forced himself to pay attention to the lavender wolf before him.

<strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"A portal swept me away."</strong> He confirmed, a curt nod coming forward, his ears turning back when she said his friend was welcome as well. <strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"I don't know where he is."</strong> Castiel stated again, though there was no irritation to be heard in his voice. He reckoned that she didn't know his name. There were a number of things that could account for it. <strong style="color: #eeeeee; font: 13px Georgia;">"What does the pack need, Freyja? I think I can do anything that you require."</strong>

She frowned a bit more when he mentioned that his friend had left as well. That was a bit disappointing, Freyja had seen how close the two were, and honestly, she felt that having a friend like that was clearly an asset for the other wolf. Then, Castiel mentioned a portal and she nodded in sympathy. Much the same had happened to another wolf a time or two that she'd heard of, being swept away by the intrusive things and then later returned. No one really understood it, and that bothered her.

<b>"Well, we no longer have any Sentinels, with Shiloh gone. Even while he was second in command he still traveled the borders and made sure all were greeted with a friendly face. It is something that is needed for our pack, I do not want any that approach to feel that we are unwelcoming, nor do I want any danger showing up without warning either."</b> Truth be told the state of the world right now was a bit nebulous to the lavendar di'shei. All seemed calm, but she knew that could change at any time.

After welcoming him back in, he went about his life in the pack, and Freyja was happy to have another wolf having returned. Even though, it would be fleeting, at least for now there was some peace.
