Pixel listened to both feelings, then shook his head to Vuple to indicate the negative. "Earth has always been a part of me. It's an extension of my body, wherever I go. Can't touch a fire with your paws." At least, he thought that he couldn't. Phoenix did it all the time, but he didn't see Vuple touch it either. "There's a sort of... resonance, yes. Don't know what to do with it though." he continued.

What a puzzling problem to have. How could one not feel the same as the other? Maybe she was more talented than she thought. With little effort, she had been able to connect with many elements. He was right though, you couldn't touch it, that's a good way to visit a healer.

"Maybe it might help to feel one through the other. Here," She pushed some snow to the side to reveal some dead grass and leaves below. It took some doing but she was able to light a fire. She turned to the mighty fire mage and asked,"Could you please keep this going and contained? I am not nearly as powerful and in control as you are." Then she turned to Pix. "Now. You must be able to feel the earth. I am sure you can feel where the earth is cold under the snow. You can feel the water under the earth and roots and whatever else might be under there, I don't know because I don't have that affinity. Maybe if you feel the earth beneath this fire, you will feel how warm it is. Maybe you can concentrate on that warmth, and slowly you might be able to connect with the flames. Just an idea." It seemed like a good idea to her at least.

Phoenix was wise enough to realize that it would likely take a slightly different track to teach a new elemental fire user how to properly access the magic if they were having troubles understanding how it even felt. She was good at training those that already knew some things, but in this matter, she was a bit behind. So when Vuple took the lead, she nodded, pleased with the interaction, and smiled as she took control over the fire. For her, it was easy keeping it contained and safe, and barely took any concentration, so she listened to what the ubeli had to speak. Ubeli seemed to tend to be better with more magics anyhow, so perhaps this was best.

The idea of feeling the warmth made Phoenix nod. That was a decent way to go about finding it, she figured. <b><font color="#9D1309">”Ye do know what warm feels like, and fire is just things that are warm enough to burst into flame, really. Makes sense.."</font></b> Was her agreeable bark, waiting to see what Pixel would do.

Pixel looked from one wolf to another, rather sure that again he did something not entirely right with learning an elemental affinity. Much like he'd felt when he was racing rocks around with Sijor's older brother Killian, although Killian never made him feel that way, just Pixel himself. But Vuple had a point. Maybe for him it was better to learn one by feeling it through the other first, and so he connected with the earth like he always did. He closed his eyes to feel, taking note of Phoenix barking about fire being mostly heat, and made a frowny face when he felt the earth being scorched. She was hurting it! However, that was his least concern. Focusing on the warmth, it was almost, almost as if that was another extension of the earth, just like the trees. Only this time so much weaker, and perhaps just the other affinity. Opening one eye to Phoenix, he asked. "I think I feel it. What do I do now?"

She continued to hold the flame right where it was, making sure that it only scorched the immediate ground and di not spread. It was so easy for her, really that she could look and listen to what the other two were doing easily as Pixel seemed to finally get the hang of feeling for the fire. Vuple then gave another instruction and the large gourom nodded once towards her, indicating that she had the right of it with the training. It really did seem that Pixel was able to take instruction better from the ubeli than from her, so she patiently helped where she could.

Trying to hold this connection to the fire and simultaneously listening to Vuple’s instruction already took all of Pixel’s concentration, and luckily nobody else showed up. Even Phoenix was silent, perhaps feeling that Pixel had some trouble with the fickle element already. After a while when it was all silent again, he did as instructed, placing a mental idea of movement on the flame for it to lean over instead of flicker upwards. As he did so, the flame mostly trembled and did perhaps not actually bend like he had instructed it, but at least it responded to the que. Happy as he was about that, it already broke his concentration when he looked up at both the other fire users. ”I felt it move!” he exclaimed, almost surprised that it had.

   She could feel his loose grasp on the fire, but that was to be expected he had only just begun. After a moment or two of silent concentration, he had been able to move the flame, however slightly. She nodded her head in approval. "In theory, it really is the same feeling as the other elements, it just needs a little more prompting." She left it with that, not really knowing what else to say. Maybe he would keep playing with it, maybe not. Instead, she turned to the much wiser fire wolf beside her.

She waited and watched as Pixel concentrated, smiling faintly, remembering the long ago time when she had first known she could handle an element. It had been long enough ago that she had been very young, as well, which Pixel was not, so she figured he would have a much easier time of understanding just what to do. Finally, the fire did move, and she felt it, even if it was just barely. She nodded, pleased that he had accomplished the goal and spoke up after Vuple's comment. <b>"It can be hard at first to understand just how to feel the fire, each element does have a different feel, from what I understand. Fire is more mobile than earth, of course, for another, besides just being warmer. I always think of it as that I am a part of the flame, my affinity breaching the gap between wolf and the fire."</b> She offered, helpfully, imagining that any little bit of wisdom could aid.

Pixel listened to Vuple and Phoenix, responding with a nod and a shake. "Yes and no, it's a similar way of connecting I suppose, but it's so hard to keep up with the fire's movements." he told them. Yet, now that he'd felt it, he knew he could find the flame again if he would only try. So he did, following it's mercurial movements and amazing himself with how hot it was and still was something that one could influence, but just not touch. He wondered then what else one could do with the affinity, extinguish it? Exacerbate the flame? He knew Phoenix could create quite some fires, herself. Perhaps with this he could learn how to spook away an unwanted visitor with a bit of flame, like that lerk some time ago.
