Trudging through the Still Lake's forest, Pixel had slowly lost his initial raised awareness after that lerk had simply intruded and hunted on Orior's pack grounds. However, it had been peaceful and quiet back then, apart from more visitors. But those wolves had always howled on the border and mostly, specifically for one or another - Shinshu and Phoenix mostly.

With them occupied, he'd taken it upon himself to make sure all scent marks were in place. Scratching his hind paws on the ground in one place, he wondered if there was a way to do this more quickly. Perhaps with earth magic? He looked inside himself, connecting to the earth, but he did not learn anything about scents, only the depth of the marks he'd just made in the ground - those would fade sooner than the scent itself.

He did not have a connection with the air, though he tried for a moment if there was something else he could use. To his surprise and dismay - for it was not useful for keeping scent marks around - he found a form of heat inside himself. He did not have anything to test this on currently though - but sure enough, perhaps if he saw Phoenix and asked about it, they'd know soon enough.

He did not think the visitors were still holding her up, so he howled for her. Not with urgency, but more out of curiosity, still eager to learn about this new thing he'd possibly found.

It wasn't within her to ignore a packmember, so when Pixel howled, she made sure to see what was going on. It didn't seem emergent, but still, no reason to hold him up so, consciously lessening her flames, she dove down to land on the ground nearby the azahi. He was alone, which was enough, but had a look on his face that told her he had perhaps found something and was curious so she gave him a nod and a small smile. <b> <font color="#9D1309">"What kin ah do for ye, lad? Ye got somewhat to show me?"</font></b> She barked in her rough, gravelly tones as she flicked her tail, the feathers at it's end fluttering slightly as she waited, quite interested now as to what he wanted.

Pixel, not in a hurry but mostly in puzzlement, after howling had inverted, more or less, once again. There was the connection to the rocks and such, always vague and sort of beckoning for metal bits that weren't around, but there was also the something else. The heat thing. Phoenix would know, but if she wasn't around, probably anyone else, too. He'd never experienced having a second ability at all, so this was all rather new. He started to wonder how long he'd -

He looked up as his personal heat thingy resonated, and Phoenix asked a question. "Fire, maybe?" he asked, but in such a strange tone that he had to check with himself if he was otherwise okay. Since he was, he rephrased. "I was thinking maybe there's an affinity to help mark the borders, but I got stuck with earth and that's not air. Instead, I now have this... hot affinity. I think. Maybe?" Well, that was perhaps not so explanatory as he'd hoped.

The large gourom listened with her head cocked to one side, her tail twitching lightly behind her, feathers on it's end flipping a bit with the motion. As he described what he had felt, she smiled a bit and then nodded. It was clear to her what had happened it seemed.

<b><font color="#9D1309">”Sounds like the fire element to me. Not a bad thing, honestly, but if you really want to tell, well, give a feel outwards towards this and see what you think."</font></b> She offered with a helpful bark, forming an orb of fire in midair just in front of Pixel. She held it there, wondering if the other wolf really could feel a connection with it or not.

It didn't seem a very useful magic to Pixel there and then, but since any new magic was a distraction from the earthen magic, perhaps it was worth to at least give it a try. It didn't seem a bad magic to him, but he also knew that fires could be dangerous - well, fires that he might be making on his own at least. He didn't think this would be dangerous with Phoenix around though, which was why he had called for her in the first place.

However as she produced a flame, he tilted his head at it and squinted his eyes. Concentrating on it didn't seem to do much. Well, not entirely anything at all even. "It's warm?" he frowned. It wasn't the same as when he'd learned earth - feeling the earth was more natural, because he could also touch it, but with the flame he wasn't so sure right now.

Vuple had spent the day collecting herbs and things for later use. She had been a bit lax in her healing studies and decided that today might be a good day to start back up. Her thoughts were interrupted with a howl from a familiar packmate, Pixel. It didn’t sound like there was something wrong but she decided to investigate anyway.

She took her time, but eventually found Pixel and Phoenix. ”Hey guys, whatcha up to?” She barked, greeting them.

The large gourom tilted her head at Pixel and then smiled a gruff smile at the youth. <b><font color="#9D1309">"Ah. I see. No, I mean you really have to feel towards it. If ye think ye have an affinity you should be able to sort of understand it with your mind and your soul. Within and without. Does that make any sense?"</font></b> Was her query, hoping that she would be able to make him understand. It seemed that the type of elemental affinity he had picked up was obviously one that was not as understandable as his other one of earth which she really could see. Fire was something that most wolves couldn't touch, not physically.

Then, Vuple turned up and she tilted her head to the Ubeli. <b><font color="#9D1309">”Seem's Pixel's found fire affinity, ah think. Ye got it too, eh? Maybe ye can help him know if he has it."</font></b> She offered up with a gruff smile, wondering if the ubeli would have any thoughts that the gourom did not .

"Oh. Sorry." he felt his face warm a little, and grinned at Phoenix most sheepishly. However, Vuple came over, since she had apparently heard his call as well, and she provided a welcome distraction from Pixel's small stupidity. However, as Phoenix explained it, he had to agree - Fire was Phoenix' only elemental affinity, and for Pixel it was his second but he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. With earth, that all had seemed natural, so now he looked at the ubeli expectantly.

 Ah, she had stumbled into a lesson. That seemed to happen a lot, it was encouraging that so many wolves were practicing. She looked to Pix and smiled. Pheonix' comment, however, seemed odd. "You think?" she asked in a questioning tone then turned to him, "I guess it's not something you think it's something you feel. I feel it in my belly but I don't know if that's normal or not. It's like I am connected to it and it with me. You have earth magic, does it not feel similar?" She asked, confused as to how the wolf could not know if he was truly connected or not.

The large gourom had been born with fire in her soul, and she knew it's intricacies inside and out. However, that focus also meant that while she could teach it to Pixel, once he understood, that explaining the raw basics of the thing might be a little less in her league and perhaps more in the ubeli's, whom had multiple magics she could weild. She simply smiled at Pixel with a small shake of her head at the apology, it wasn't needed, she hadn't been scolding him. In fact, the fact that he now had an affinity for fire made him tougher in her book.

To Vuple's question then, she simply grinned. <b><font color="#9D1309">”Ah was born with fire, an its my ownly affinity. Ah've focused on it so much that ah'm immune to it even. For me it's just a part of me and ah've never had any other magics to confuse it. Kin tell ye that ah feel it within my soul, a flame that sits there that reaches out to other flames with ease.."</font></b>
