   It took him several more moments, but the slush continued to harden into a solid block of ice. This feat was not done without consequence. Almost immediately after solidifying the water, it began to quiver in the air until falling with a soft ’fump’ in the snow. Even though he was excited and proud of himself he panted heavily and was unable to comment on his accomplishment just yet. His eyes sparkled in pride and spoke for him until he caught his breath.

    He did not like to admit his fatigue. He pushed himself to shake off the feeling of being so drained and tried to perk up. "I will practice a bit more later. I think." He did not want this practical stranger to think he was a weakling. He was an Entinen. He was not weak. "You say you are protector of this lake. I take it that means you have been here for a long time. No alpha would give that title to just any wondering wolf, especially none so wise as Keita. What can you tell me of this place? Of its history? I am sure the water of the lake can tell you much more than I can pick up on." Keita had shown him that there was more to learn about the environment through the elements than what meets the eye."[/b] He used the conversation to rest and try to show he was not completely exhausted. He did not like to be laughed at.

After that, Sulo had brought up something he was unfamiliar with, and he didn't mind that, but he pricked his ears back nonetheless, in more of an apology to him than himself. "I'm afraid Keita is better at reading the elements. I have never understood how she or her daughter does it. The only thing I can tell from the water is that it is very clean, with an abundance of fish that just seem to keep coming." he told the other, and gazed across the water, looking to his den, thinking he saw something in the corner of his eye. "Nothing has really happened to this place since my arrival. It is peaceful, some might call it boring, but peace is what I enjoy." he explained.

Continuing to stare at his den, he made out the outline of his pet wandering out with a fish corpse Shinshu had left for him. The white Lerk looked to Sulo, wondering what he'd make of a giant rat.</td>

He couldn't hide his disappointment. He had thought that every wolf in the pack that had been there for any length of time would be told about heir parklands and the history. But he couldn't hold it against him. He himself didn't know much about his own pack.

He noticed the lerk's eyes shift somewhere in the distance. "Am I keeping you from something?" After he spoke he followed Shinshu's gaze. Some sort of creature seemed to be walking about around some structure. His head cocked to the side. "What is that?" his voice was a little tense but seeing as the lerk was not on guard or seemed threatened so he himself remained calmer than he might have if he had been alone.

Shinshu gave a sideways smile to Sulo. "That is... I suppose you could call him a friend of mine. A giant rat who seems to like hanging around, eating my scraps.
Which is great because I do not like wasting anything." he explained to the other. "It is best not to disturb him while he's eating. He gets extremely protective over food. However, he hangs around the pack lands and I've trained him somewhat, so you're welcome to track him down and meet him. He tends to hide in the trees, though. I think he has some sort of sticky paws that helps him climb ..." he rambled. </td>

    He looked from the rat to the Lerk and back. How strange. It reminded him of Auntie Ata’s friend Aiken. Such a curious thing, Aiken, always chirping and stealing things. A squirrel was one thing, but a rat? Though he thought it odd, it really made no difference. However, he was not interested in tracking the creature down at all. At least not now.

    ”Isn’t it weird...how some creatures just take a liking to one of us? My Auntie Ata,” he cleared his throat and corrected himself, ”Atarah, had a squirrel follow her home. He has lived with her for quite some time now. He’s practically a pack member.” His voice trailed off with a couple light chuckles.
