Aurora stared ahead into the sky. For several seriatim days she had been waiting here in the atrium, and during none of those days, Freyja had returned. Her mother had already told her that Freyja's goddess might have called her away, but then Aurora didn't really believe that her godmother, more or less, would have left without word. Yet, it seemed that this was still the case, and they would have to accept that.

It had taken a few days for them to realize that their Alpha was gone and for some reason, did not return. Aamu had been worried, while Aurora had shrugged it off as Freyja being on some kind of mission and would return soon. Somehow, they had switched roles later on, Aamu starting to accept that for some reason, Freyja would not return, perhaps on purpose, perhaps due to an encounter with a portal. Either way, she had reasoned that the large lilac di'shei would be okay, she had her goddess and her magic by her side. Aurora, being stubborn as she was, had not accepted this as a good enough explanation, and had decided on waiting up here.

Finally, she looked down. Aamu had made her appearance at the gate, carrying the linen satchel that she used only rarely. She was about to leave, something Aurora didn't fully conceive still. This had always been their home! But as her mother had told her before, it wasn't so for her, and she'd rather leave the mnemonics of lost pups, friends, and mates behind, than wait in the only place that any one of the missing wolves would start their search for them.

They'd said their goodbyes that morning, for what it was worth. Still rebellious in nature, Aurora had decided that since her mother was going to see if she could join Orior, it wasn't as if they would never see one another again - so after a few short barks that indicated 'if you must go, then go' and a 'don't be ridiculous about this' from her mother's side, the winged young she-wolf had decided on silence. It probably wasn't going to be their last conversation anyway. But Aurora wasn't planning on leaving. Pah! That would be the day the world ended.
