Atarah seemed excited rather than worried, very excited in fact. Enfys giggled at her zipping around. "The rock can do tricks too!" the Di'shei exclaimed. Crouching low to get as much spring as possible, she jumped, lowered the rock slightly and flipped it over, soon landing on the other side of the rock where there were no footholds. Her claws scraped a little as she tried to gain balance. She was successful, however she preferred the other side, so she flipped the rock again, this time landing almost flawlessly.

  Atarah stopped and hovered in the air to watch Enfys. At the sight of the trick, she howled her excitement once more, "Incredible! How did you learn to do that?! What Enfys was able to do was remarkable. The amount of magic she used so effortlessly boggled Atarah's mind. She must have spent a long time practicing.

Enfys shrugged, and stood there looking at the Dynroth. "I guess I wanted to fly so badly, and when you guys weren't looking I climbed higher, and ... experimented." she barked, with a slightly guilty, yet innocent grin. She looked to the ground and opened her maw to pant. Though the breeze should've cooled her down, all that work had her a little tired, so the Di'shei nodded to the ground, soon the rock started sinking directly down. "So, how've you been?" she questioned, wondering how her best friend had coped over the weeks. When she thought about it, it had been a while since they talked.

  She giggled at the honesty of her friend. Sneaking off to learn dangerous maneuvers didn't seem like the best idea to her overprotective friend but it wasn't like Atarah could actually stop her. It seemed she'd been too caught up in her own life that she had neglected to pay attention to Enfys. Her question kind of struck a nerve in the golden wolf and her eyes darkened a bit, but it was doubtful Enfys could tell. It took a moment to respond but she did, "I...I'm good." Once again his eyes flashed before her, forever burned in her mind. "It's just been difficult lately. I've spent long hours in the woods, just watching the world go by." What she didn't tell her friend was that sometimes she would sit there all day and all night. There was no need for her to hunt as she received all her nutrients and water through her vines. In fact, in theory, she could stay in one spot for weeks if she wanted and never grow any weaker, though she may atrophy slightly.

Many times while sitting there alone, her thoughts would drift to her siblings and she would wonder if there was a point to anything. Why was she here? Was there more to life than this or did she have this to look forward to for the rest of her life? Loneliness had once again set up in her heart. Sure, she had Enfys and Kaleidoscope, but she needed something more. There had been times she had even envied Enfys for her relationship with Ahti. It would be nice to have someone to face the world with, someone to help her face the eyes that haunted her in her dreams and deprived her of sleep, but maybe that was not in her fate. So instead, she would sit amongst the trees and watch the tiny woodland creatures scurry about and simply watch the world pass her by.


Being as overprotective as she was Enfys's glance towards the ground and the slight descent of the rock did not pass her by, she made a long sigh and acted tired"Speaking of which, it's been a while since I've stretched my wings, mind if we head back down?" The amount of magic and energy she was using was sure to drain her quickly but she knew Enfys was quite stubborn and didn't like to be seen as weak. Most of the time she was too stubborn to admit she was tired but the idea of her falling due to fatigue scared Atarah. Besides, she could use a rest even if she wasn't as tired as she made out to be. Without giving her much choice she began her decent. She didn't dive like she normally did but instead began to fall in a slow and controlled manner.

The rock she was controlling sank lower and lower as the conversation tone changed. It was rather fitting, but it wiped the smile off Enfys' face. "Good?" she droned, raising her brow to the other, clearly seeing right through her. She listened, and thought a little about what to say back, but Atarah spoke again about descending, and Enfys nodded. "I was thinking the same." she admitted with a little shrug, and lowered the rock a lot faster than she had been, at the bottom she slowed to a stop landing with a soft thump in the ground. She sighed with relief, and moved off the rock to feel the softer grass on her pads. She sat and tilted her head. "Difficult how?" she questioned. "I don't mean to probe- you don't have to answer." she rushed in.

  The ground welcomed her with the growth of a soft bed of grass under her paws that receded once she was securely on the ground. She preferred the grass rather than landing on the earth, no matter how much she softened it. She opened her mouth to speak, but his eyes flashed before hers choking the words from her. She closed her eyes and took a breath. "I see his eyes everywhere I go," her voice cracked a bit as she tried to force the barks from her throat. Visions of the bear with vines around his neck danced in her mind. "His eyes haunt me through the day and torment me in my dreams."

Her own eyes had become blurred as tears welled up, "I feel so alone." The barks came from her mouth before she could think, she knew Enfys would be offended or think she had done something wrong but that wasn't true. That wasn't the kind of alone she meant. Almost as soon as she said it she corrected it, "I'll always have you Enfys, but that's not what I mean. I..." her voice trailed off for a second as she looked for the best way to describe it, "...I need my own Ahti." 'but I doubt that will ever happen..' She kept the last part to herself, she had already possibly upset her friend she didn't need to continue it with her own depressing thoughts.

Enfys listened to what she had to say, in silence, and after she had finished she inched forward, giving her friend a loving hug. "By his eyes I assume you mean the bear? I think you've tormented yourself enough over that... He is resting now, and you gave him a burial, right? Your method of eating has saved lots of animals by now ... I know swapping lives for another life isn't fair, but ... you've killed before, unprovoked. So have I. It is nature and you don't need to beat yourself up about it. If you feel threatened and it comes down to survival, you can act out of character, and I don't think a single wolf- or any animal on this land can blame you for that." she paused for a moment, wondering how those words flooded out of her mouth, usually not great at giving pep talks. "I haven't talked in a while." she told herself, and pushed herself against Atarah in a tighter wolf hug before stepping back. "As for finding a mate... do you think you'll find one by staying in your den? I could help you explore if you want." she said, smiling sweetly.

  "But...what if it happens again? I lost control. I could have let him live. I could have gotten away while he regained his strength. I didn't have to kill him...but I did. But I guess you're right. I am not my mistake." She leaned into the wolf hug, it was nice to have someone to lean on. Enfys' words made her giggle a but, " I guess you have a point there. Unless he comes walking in one day which would be weird." followed by a flurry of giggles at the thought of something so absurd happening. "I don't know Enfys. Maybe I am looking for answers in the wrong places. What do---" the familiar chirps of an angry Aiken interrupted her barks. He held a tiny pebble-like gemstone in his paw as he raced towards her. It seemed he hadn't liked being forgotten on the ground back at the den. He chirped his frustrations to the world before leaping up to his spot between her wings. "Well...Hello to you too Aiken." then she resumed her conversation with her friend, "Once upon a time I thought that those sort of things just happened. I mean, it just happened for you right? Isn't it a bit silly to go looking for something like that?" She shifted her weight and laid down, ignoring the protests of the disturbed rodent on her back.

(OOC: Maybe Luci could come walking into her den...... and set the place on fire.... XD) A sigh of relief came over Enfys with the fit of giggles that ensued after she had spoke, and she let out an amused huff of air, her sweet smile still on her maw. For a moment, she less-than gracefully sat, and scratched at her head with her back leg, the tufts of fur forming around the crystal irritating her a little, but still, she was all ears- until Aiken came in. Not good at reading emotions of singing squirrels she gave a little nod to him, as if nothing was wrong, and shook herself off, bending her ears back as an apology to Atarah. "Please go on" she giggled. "Just happened" The Dynroth said, Enfys looked to the left for but a moment, recalling, and slowly her head began to shake. "Noooot exactly. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I was a lone wolf for quite a while, moping in my den, only coming out to hunt, then I just sort of decided I'd done enough hiding, a few trips out and I met Ahti..." she signed, looking down the whole time, tail tucked around her, obviously ashamed of the reality.

  What a strange concept, she thought to herself."So you just decided to find a mate and did? How? I mean I'm sure you didn't just walk up to him and say, I choose you." she giggled a bit and continued. "I remember you talking about how you came to be with him, from the place we get the fake grass...but do you really think it could be that easy for me?" A spark of hope glittered and sparkled in her one good eye.

A moment or two after her last barks, her body language changed a bit. Her eyes dropped, "What about my scar and my ear and my eye? Do you think that is what keeps males away?" Though she tried to make it seem as though her scars didn't bother her, she was a bit self concious of them at times. In the context of males, she was very self concious of them.
